Tilley BR49 (1954-56)

    This lantern has cleaned up a lot. Took a while to sort out the pump but all working now. I note the comments about only putting a little kero into the pre-heater. I really wish I had read that first before I fired it up; repeat fired it up. [-X

    Going fine now though. Oh and I will straighten the handle on the shroud now that I have looked at the other BR49s. T - Tilley BR49 Lit (ID=33).jpg

    I usually fill it up to the brim without problem. For me, the key to using them properly was to figure out how the kero flame was ventilated i.e. oxygenated by keeping the shroud raised until the priming flame was good and hot, then lowering it slowly into position... :thumbup: :D/
