That burner assembly looks the same as Wizard hollow wire suspension lamp /Nagel Chase (1912-1917 AU Wizard #21) Cancel above I think this might be it (Nagel Chase No. 5d (about 1922))
Close. It's actually Nagel Chase model 5 which is a gasoline lantern. Model 4 is a kero lamp. This one dates from around 1920.
Thank you all. I will do some more investigation on how the jet/pricker system works on this lantern and get it burning. It belongs to a fellow who lives about an hours drive from me. Cheers Tony
I recently visited the owner of this lantern, and asked him if he’d like me to see if I could get it working... I’m quite pleased! I will post some more detailed photos of this lantern when I give it a bit of a clean up. Cheers Tony
Certainly looks like it's going well. Will any current or more easliy available glass fit ? who knows maybe you will convert the owner
I doubt it. These lanterns are quite large and originally would have been fitted with a mica shade 150mm diam. X 174mm high.
I’m returning this lantern to its owner as I work on my own Model 5, so I’ve cleaned it up a bit and took some “studio” shots. Cheers Tony
