Finally the twins work. How you make those Tilley mantles so nice? One is ok and the other one is little smaller and it burns outside the mantel.
Merry Christmas and a very happy new year!

Love them or hate them - they do burn nicely and not too loudly - and so simple..

When there is flame outside of the mantle, that usually means that the vapouriser's jet is enlarged.

Then it is probably not the vapouriser but the burner. Make sure it is clear of obstructons. Many here advocate not dismantling them, and with good reason as they can deform and threads can be eroded, however the 246b burners are easy to come by so I do take them apart when I first acquire the lamp to make sure all is well inside. I don't make a habit of it say, for cleaning.

What happens if you put the "bad" top on the "good" lamp ?

@Buggerlugs it was under testing, så they are without globes but i have the globes.
@Fireexit1 if i put the "bad" topp on the "good" lamp it continues burning bad

Hi @Carpedien1982 - well you have probably worked out that this would seem to rule out the vapouriser and any pressure issues and point to the burner. I would look to see if it has any loose parts or obstructions inside it. It does mean the loss of a mantle.
    good luck
    Chris

Now is working perfect. I opened the burner. Now when i know the anatomy of the burner i kan understand better and fix it easier. Except the the dyrt, the main problem was actually the air tubes what wasn't all the way in.

Excellent news @Carpedien1982. They are simple lamps but sometimes they do lead you round the garden with small issues. It is really helpful having two the same !
