I recently acquired a couple of old 242D’s, but clearly one of them wasn’t right (original thread here: 242D’s 8/66 and 9/66) After pulling them apart it was clear that one of them was made from a combo of parts and only the fount, valve assembly and collar were correct. It came from NZ so assuming it was a working lantern, as it was also very cheap. Anyway, I turned two lanterns in to one and here is the end result. Will keep the unused parts for a later project!

The 242 is my favorite Coleman model, by far. My 242C got jealous of the attention I was giving to a 200A. So I fired it up, for awhile. I'm on the lookout for a decent 242B, to add to my collection.
