Coleman 242D

    I recently acquired a couple of old 242D’s, but clearly one of them wasn’t right (original thread here: 242D’s 8/66 and 9/66)

    After pulling them apart it was clear that one of them was made from a combo of parts and only the fount, valve assembly and collar were correct. It came from NZ so assuming it was a working lantern, as it was also very cheap.

    Anyway, I turned two lanterns in to one and here is the end result. Will keep the unused parts for a later project!

    Hi there I'm new to lamps but see the 242D Coleman looks good. Am in need of a few with spares for my retro safari camo. Please advise reliable supplier contact details. Regards Riverman in Africa.

    The 242 is my favorite Coleman model, by far. My 242C got jealous of the attention I was giving to a 200A. So I fired it up, for awhile. I'm on the lookout for a decent 242B, to add to my collection. 20210226_205357.jpg
