I would love to know the actual circumstances on what and how the alleged heater exploded. From the news story it appears the customer(s) brought the heater with them. Isn’t this a bid unusual or am I just out of touch? Cheers Pete
Been past countless times as not far from where I used to live... sounds like someone wanted to keep warm of an evening and took a heater or perhaps something that would act as a heater? Hard to speculate as not many details and sounds like serious burns to 3 folks? It’s still outside only for pubs over here Pete that’s why it’s a bit unusual
Thanks @podbros I can imagine that the outside could be a tad cold. Many moons ago, I lived in Fleet Hampshire for 4 years and I do remember that it can get a little cool this time of year. Cheers Pete
me thinks one of these, if you dont put gas in properly, they leak and go bang, me being a fisher person have seen it happen, the same with the cookers,

Seen when I worked for Fire & Rescue, result of a halogen lamp left too near to furnishings in a trailer tent. The people got away with superficial burns.

Reading the article it would appear that it was an unpressurised bioethanol open flame burner and one of the party was squirting fluid at the flames, with the resultant arc of fire reaching inside the bottle causing it to burst in to flames. Much like the old barbeque lighting fluid risk...
