Does anyone have any experience with “Klean-Heat” kerosene substitute? My son picked up a gallon today. It’s suppose to have no smell, clean burning and better than K-1 kerosene. I planned on using it in my kerosene burning lanterns, I just don’t want to burn down the place. Has anyone had any experience with this stuff?
That’s the stuff they sell at Home Depot; I burned several gallons of it in dedicated European kerosene lanterns with no problem; then I discovered Jet A
I’ll second that; it was expensive enough when I bought it that I immediately started looking for something else. I don’t recall any additional smell other than what’s associated with kerosene anyway. Although I am constantly reminded by she with the nose when I try to go into the house without changing clothes.
Boy, this sounds familiar!! “Those cloths smell, have you spilled something?!” “No, but it should give the neighbors a thrill if I have to take them off!”
