I am so excited to finally know about this lamp shade, as seen in this topic. I was fortunate to find a pair of these in almost mint condition about 20 years ago. This photo is of one of them, but an unknown pattern. My other one is a "Royal" Sheer-lite design as identified by another poster...THANK YOU! Anyone have any ideas on the value of these shades so my kids don't disrespect them after I kick the bucket! The glass globe with one of my lamps is cracked and I don't see any kind of number on it. Ideas on how to search for a replacement please?
Welcome, Wendy. The site policy is to not give valuations, but those shades are not easily found, especially in good condition. They are treasures. As to the glass, if you post a photo of the glass, it can be identified. Cheers Tony @Wendy Stevens
@Wendy Stevens Hi and welcome to the forum! That’s a great looking lamp and shade, thanks for sharing.
Splendid lamps - I think you want part no 132-355 AKA the "355 globe". Oldcolemanparts.com do replicas, but you may be lucky and find one locally. A picture of the cracked one would settle it.
Thank you for the information Tony...understood. Thank you also to fireexit1 for the globe information. I took the other lamp apart and have added pictures. As one picture shows there is a Coleman made in USA stamp on the globe but no number. This lamp shade is almost pristine. I keep them out of any sunlight which I think is key to preservation and they sit on top of our old piano, below an over 100 year old Douglas Fir ceiling which I purchased at a demolition sale of what turned out to be an historic house on Vancouver Island. It took 3 months for me to dismantle, clean and restore and we installed it in our new house in 2000.
@Wendy Stevens I’m green with envy as I’m especially fond of shades. I don’t have anything like yours though. Very, very nice!
The shade is made with a pleated cardboard that has had a clear thin plastic adhered to the outside of it when manufactured. I would not use it with a lit coleman lantern personally...maybe that is why these are so rare...singed to a sad end. Thank you for your comment, I treasure these so much.
I don’t think this lamp is a Coleman No. 156 Table Lamp, given it’s colour, tank, and handle. Neil (@Mackburner) suggests it is a 168K. Do you agree? Cheers Tony
@Tony Press I think you are right Tony; 168K. Here is my green 168K. My shade needs a bit of work. Iain
In case the two immediately preceding posts are confusing to some, the lamp in this thread was originally posted under Coleman No. 156. Tony
Hi @Tony Press , you are correct about the lamp above in the first post, as it is a 6 inch fount without air pump. The link to another lamp in the first post above takes you to a no. 156 with 7 inch fount without air pump and with the same “Sunshine” model shade. Larry
