Wow, the base of that tank looks worryingly rusty!

Very good job, I need to do the same to my Ditmar Maxim 520, found 4 cracks on the bottom. What solder are you using (tin/lead like the one used for solder circuit boards)? Thanks.

    Cristiano,
I used the Caswell fount sealer epoxy. Worked great.
The solder thing wasn't working out for me. Good luck.

Yes, that is the solder. Most commonly used for crack repairs.

    Cristianio,

Those repairs look very smooth, nice work. I can't tell if you drilled the hole at the top of the crack or not. I haven't tried repairing one of these yet. I did buy a Nagel Chase recently. Looks like someone repaired a crack down at the bottom like where the cracks on yous are. On mine the stress cracks continued up the font. I assume those showed up after the repair. 20231104_193207.jpg

Interesting, I tried to drill the hole all along the visible crack, from top to bottom. For now it seems fully sealed, tested under water. I hope they don't open more. Thanks.
