This is a nice example of a GDR made lantern with fully enamelled hood which is not found so often. The thread title is not a typo, since the "Starklichtlaterne mit Normengewinde" appeared in some catalogues under that name. In my opinion it should be an "early" type, since the details are almost identical to the HASAG 351L, compared to later lanterns which have some differences in technical details. After 1962 the manufacturing was transitioned from "VEB Leipziger Werke Metallwarenkombinat/Leuchtenbau" to "VEB Sturmlaternenwerk Beierfeld", who also made the "BAT 270" pressure lanterns. At this time tha lanterns were already named 361L instead of 351L.
The "1" mark on the cap nut is the GDR quality sign for "world class goods", so mainly made for export. There is no manufacturer stamping or other sign for identification. The lantern is made to use petrol as well as paraffin and runs very quiet and reliable. It is one of my favourite "workhorses".

Looks like a very solid well made lamp. There are certain parts that are reminiscent of the Optimus and Radius lanterns.

Yes, as you can see from the mantle. It runs quite good, even on 100% kerosene/paraffin.
