The date this year is the weekend of 24th and 25th of November.
I will be there on the 23rd and probably the 26th for anyone who wants to come early or leave late.

The designated theme for this year is bring your lamp that has a story to it.
Could be a lamp that once belonged to Elvis or it could be your great grandfathers lamp or a story about how you got it.

More details as we get closer.

    Absolutely Matty.

    All are welcome.

It will be mainly a camping situation though there is a largish hay shed with a big open fire and a toilet and shower.

If any special needs are required, rather than not come contact me privately or treefellerhere@gmail.com and something may be able to be worked out.

Bring what ever you think is interesting wether it be Tilley or not, Australian or not.

The farm is 30 acres and is at Staffordshire Reef which is half an hour from Ballarat.

As I said all are welcome so let others know, CPL members or not.

    Directions to Ballarat/Staffordshire Reef gathering.

Starting at the corner of Glenelg Hwy and Midland Hwy, Ballarat. (Woolworths), head west towards Hamilton for about 16km to Smythesdale.
On the other side of Smythesdale, turn left into Browns Rd (becomes Staffordshire Reef Rd).

Down Browns Rd for about 13km, turn left into Grandmas Rd,

then immediate right into Speedwell Dam Rd.

    Go to end of road.
Ignore the sign on the gate, just keep going.

Through the gate at the left just past the house.

I should mention there is little phone reception down the bottom of the hill. Up at the gate is almost always OK. Vodaphone and similar would have long gone.

I can't see any Kangaroo's in photo's. That's heartening. They can be a real pain to run into.

    Again, absolutely Matty.
This was the result of hitting a roo at 110 km/h last Friday night.
The radiator got pushed into the fan.

Couldn't have been a very big one. I thought cars these days disintegrate at the sight of a roo. :)

A Little Birdie told me of your 'run-in' with the 'roo. My previous post was designed to 'give you the bird' in regards to a recent prank made by you - on me. :)

    @kerry460

I'm sorry to hear you aren't feeling well.

For some, our bodies just haven't stood the ravages of time and hard yakka. I can sympathise all too well with you.

    @Matty

I visit Ballarat about once per year. The gathering is in my biggest week of the year for work, so while it looks like fun I can’t make it.

The photos of the last gathering promoted me to start seriously looking for an FL6, I recently missed out on a locally advertised one by just a few hours.

I am hoping too, although the Social Secretary has another event written in for the Saturday.

While this year’s gathering is not focussed on setting a world FL6 light-up record, there may well be a vistitation* in the form of Tilley SLs.

I’m on the overnight ferry now, SL strapped into the passenger seat and well padded. Looking forward to picking up some of my Gloria (and other) stash in Melbourne and heading north to Staffordshire Reef. :content:

    Cheers

Got as far as Albury today. Should get to Staffordshire Reef tomorrow. A bugger of a drive today with rain, strong winds and a dust storm :-&
