Hello all, Found today in a bazaar a other survivor, A Graetzin 915 its a litle bit rough and electrafaid but is was to nice tho left it there all tips en tricks are welkom.
i started today with the strip down, to look what was left inside the center tube. There is missing some pipes and the air mixer is there someone who have detail picture's off the inner parts? the site form Wim was for sow far a good help
I made a workinging page, so you may look here: Graetzin 915 Biggest problem will be to find a burner, inner chimney and outer glass. But you have the filler cap as well as the filter inside ?
Wim, i have the filler cap but not the filter. what you mean with the inner chimney, is that the metal tube what is insite te outer tube? on my pic's on the left?
Nope, around the burner you have a short inner glass chimney with three prongs. Like on a Graetzin gas lamp. In german it is called: Knagenglass. Here an example on the left. Picture from Hytta.de
Thanks Wim for the info!! are there some where pic's of the burner assembly? the part what is cut off on my lamp.
Wim, is it a option to make a adapter for a modern petromax burner? will it run with a normale mantel?
Hello A. If you look at the pressure that is involved I think it will not work. The original burner is more or less an open "pipe", so gas can flow out easy. The modern style px buner head have many small holes, so more restiction. Also you need to take in account the heat involved. Then the gas pressure will not inflate a soft mantle.
Is it possible that you make the burner form a other type off material? brass or stainless are that type off mantels still for sale?
Hello A., Spezial Glühkörper von Hytta. But you can also try camping or sporting shops in your neighbourhood. I can't make a burner and I don't know somebody who can but I am pretty sure somebody can make them. What is left of the original piece ?
Wim, oke that is a nice shop thanks for the tip. the machining for me is no problem, do you think brass holts the heat off the flame? a mis the compleet part off the air mixer and burner assembly see picture. do you now where a can find some measurements off the missing parts?
At this moment not, my lanterns are in wintersleep. Packed. But there are more of these around so somebody else maybe can help ?
Perhaps this topic, in this forum, can help. It is about a Marla, but you can have an idea about the burner and mantle. Marla gravity troubles ; help needed
Not the ceramic nozzle, but I have got a lamp for spares, perhaps the burner is in good condition, but let me check at home, it could take a couple of days.
The assembly should look like this. On the part you see below have to be a ceramic nozzle whrer to attach the mantle. Eventually I have the upper part for spare but I cannot send it to you by now as I have to check if the other lamps I own are in good condition. You will have to be patient. @A Hendrikx
Hello all, i found yesterday four burners, three open and one with small holes. whitch one is the best tho use for the Greatzin 915?
