Hi all, This is the latest lamp from my work bench; an American low pressure indoor "arc" type lampvfrom The Royal Gas Light Company, Chicago. This is more or less the same lamp as my American Lighting Co. lamp (1901-1905 American Lighting Co. "arc" lamp | Classic Pressure Lamps & Heaters) and The Royal Gas Light Co. is most likely the successor of the American Lighting Co. They share the same location on Kenzie Street Chicago and later this company is located at several others locations on Kenzie Street. I have no paperwork for this lamp as a Royal Gas Light Co. product, but we have 1902 ads for the same lamp of American Lighting Co., posted here on CPL before of @Anthony . The Royal Gas Co. was also into gas system lamps "Royal Gem" (and probably also hollow wire systems lamps). This lamp comes probably from around 1905 - 1910, and is an indoor gasoline fed lamp with an overhead generator burner and is said to give 750 CP. These arc lamps are heavy beasts and I have put a 1951 Coleman 200 and an Optimus 930 for comparison. This lamp needed a thorough cleaning up and a new chimney and reflector. I also had to straighten the long cleaning needle rod that was bent. These lamps are extremely quiet and works good with low pressure (0,5/7 bar/psi). /Conny Before .....
