Here is a Kitson J12 type donut i would think in production from around 1910 till 1922,Parrafin burning 500cp lamp nice green viterous enamel green paint on the steel tank is really a shorter version of the J15 but the vapouriser does not pass thro the gas supply to the mantle as it does on the former Illustrated in Bo Rymans add here https://classicpressurelamps.com/index.php?threads/2526 Same pricker setup as the J15 same vaporiser wonder why they produced two very similar lamps like this? cheers pete
Hello Pete, great find again! Kitson offered a range of those lamps, the main difference was the candle power. The link below shows some other adverts which state the range of candle power, Jeff. https://classicpressurelamps.com/index.php?threads/646
Thanks Jeff yes this is another of the J series think they are both the same candle power both have the number 5 stamped on the jet nipple must be somewhere around 5-600 cp i should think, the 1200 cp in the advert must have been a awesome lamp running i notice its a 1920 add for the J15 and the pipework comes from the bottom of the tank unlike the one i have from the top cheers pete
Hello Pete, 1200cp.,lamps were used in industry, such as, factories and railway yards, etc.. Kitson would have tweeked the design of their lamps over the years, just as Tilley did. There is a lack of paperwork on Kitson but more may appear yet, Jeff.
Thanks ian this one was fairly easy compared to some i have done tho most work was on the generator and pricker mecho really cheers pete
