This is just the second of these I know of in captivity. Pretty much the same as Henry's lantern but the pump on mine is marked with the patent number instead of the inventors name. The lamp has suffered from years of storage but from the condition of the burner and generator has seen little use. It was missing the globe cage support and filler cap so I have made a SS collar and used an Akron filler cap. I also had to replace the packing in the generator because some previous owner had removed the packing and tried to use some thin asbestos string which just refused to work right. I Re-packed it and it now works very well. ::Neil::
Hello Neil, that's a fine restoration of a well built old lantern and it's great to see it working! Jeff.
Same lamp, that's where I got it last week. I thought it was cheap considering age and rarity. ::Neil::
Glad it went to a good home and is not sitting on a shelf in Korea. I expected it to go for more, but it still exceeded what I could sneak past the wife.
Ah yes I remember that problem well. Still a wife is more important than a lamp. I know mine was so count your blessings. ::Neil::
