This Canadian Coleman LQ427 is code marked 26 / 5 so May 1926. Nothing special about it other than it's an unfettled barn find and came complete with correct mica and Q99 generator but with an enamel ventilator which seems early for the date. I don't know when the US or Canada first started enameling vents, or if one country started enameling first.
I have seen that model of lantern turn up with the green hood on it before. Neil may have more information, Jeff.
As far as I know that enamelled vent was introduced in 1927 but the actual date of introduction is a little vague so perhaps May of 1926 is possible. In fact we don't really know so it might be a later retro fit or original. Nice lamp either way. ::Neil::
