This January 1928 L427 Quick-Lite made in USA was slightly rough :^o when it arrived. I am showing it in that condition because though it now works well, it is not yet complete.

Clearly the vent, metal valve wheel and the R55 generator are not original. There are no markings on the underside of the fount and the air tube is stamped with a US 1919 patent and a British one. The remains of an original mica globe are evident.

The Coleman Products book lists the upward facing bail tabs as being ‘approximately 1926-1928’.

That same book lists the following features as being ‘After 1929’:
    • Winged ridge free filler cap
    • Pump knob with center hole and marked close
    • Shorter version of the pump mounted internally.
Because mine is dated January 1928, it may indicate that some of the above ‘After 1929’ features were in place in 1928 which may be of interest to some Coleman enthusiasts.

Interesting too, in that the manufacturer recommended taking off the ventilator if this model lantern was used indoors.
