1930s early Primus 1019

    I can't date this one because the date stamp in the base is obscured but it appears to be very like one I have in a 1932 catalogue so I guess it will be early to mid 1930s. 1019 is not common and is unusual in that it has a steel tank unlike nearly all other Primus product which is brass.

    If all the fittings are original to the lantern (wheel, filler cap, alcohol cup, etc.) then I would date this lantern to either 1937 or 1938. Things might have been changed though as the pump knob looks to be the wrong type for this lantern. Hard to tell from the angle.

    The filler cap and alcohol cup are from the period 1934 to about 1937/38 and the wheel is the type introduced in 1937 (late in the year I think).

    I have no idea. This is how it came. Very probably from Bo so he might know if there were any changes made. Interesting, not common and 1930s is close enough for me. ::Neil::
