1930s (early) Tilley PL53

    This is i think a very early pl53 it has a glass i have never seen before there is a shield with tilley hendon on it and the nmber 014880
    [see pictures]
    it has the early wire configuration with the wire guard and support separate also the brass button control cock but has nothing wrote on it ,
    the hood seems to be a bit more squashed down than others i have seen in great condition with little use

    Did Tilley make inverted hanging lamps? Looks like the glass is from an inverted lamp to me but am not familiar with Tilleys so I may be wrong. Quite a complicated configuration.

    Hi Ron iam not sure , but this is a genuine tilley glass but the number is not one i have seen before???
