1932. We will have a look at why the chart link doesn't work. Here's the version at CCS in the meantime.
I have quite few Primus stoves and loads of Tilleys but this is my first Primus lamp. It will probaly be awhile before i start to restore it in earnest so will no doubt come.back with loads of questions if i cannot find the answers in threads first. In the meantime, any tips on whether or not to try Brasso to polish it up?
Personally I would just clean it up with some good detergent and hot water initially and see how it looks. Often a polish just make specimens like this look worse in my opinion. Some parts will absolutely be nice and shiny, but often there will be pitted areas, and the overall appearence seems to be of the kind where it will look better clean but patinated rather than with some parts nice and shiny and others like the frame, handle and hood won't. But the initial washing up may surprise us, and tell us that a polish might be good after all. Regarding the date chart issue... it looks like it's only related to mobiles, and possibly other mobile units. It works as it should whenI open the link on a computer, but on my phone it look like below. The chart should show directly under the text "Primus date chart". EDIT: I just relalised that if I tilt my phone to landscape mode, the chart suddenly will show up! @spiritburner
