This lantern was owned by a prominent character on the CCF forum who passed away. I purchased it on ebay via Mike from Old Coleman Parts. It was a mess. See if I can find a before picture. Doused with some indestructible red paint EVERYWHERE, I had no choice but to fully restore. Paint was a gift (well, a trade for some homemade beer of mine) with another collector and professionally applied by a friend who does auto body work. I kept the original vent as you can partially see seafoam green from under the red and had IPE re-porcelain a 220E vent. Glass and decal are from Fred Kuntz. Lot of work and time put into this one for sure.
Red paint, sounds like a US Forestry lantern which are one of the most collectible & valuable lanterns out there even though they look junky, did it have USFS anywhere on it?
