Here is a US made Coleman 220B from December 1936. As I understand there were a number of variations of this model, some had winged filler caps and some even painted founts. This particular lantern is very much like the later 220C, with only a few minor variations: 1.) cotter pin "keepers" on bail to frame attachment 2.) tear drop loop on tip cleaner (vs round) 3.) slightly different valve body (same basic concept, just different manufacturing process) 4.) nickel fount This is a classic lantern. It is good looking, sturdy and works very well. I particularly like the wide brim vent, it helps keep the light out of eyes and on your work. These early 228 models are perhaps my favorites.
