A 1939 AD16 Primus 391 Spirit Model Very good general condition but has a few missing parts. The bail/handle being the most noticeable, shame that. Lovely Hood! Burner assembly, showing missing Nipple/Jet and Air-Intake less restrictor. The Air-Intake tube shows no sign of a restrictor (at least not the same kind/shape of restrictor as is in my 1320). Were the restrictors a different shape in these or were the tubes different for the Spirit version? The lack of restrictor, nipple and cleaning needle suggests the previous owner was in the process of swapping back to paraffin If someone could provide photos/dimensions of the restrictor for one of these it would be very much appreciated I'll machine one up Alec.
It's not uncommon to find these alcohol models converted to kerosene. It's mot hard to do. Whether they removed the restrictor in the air inlet or bought a new air tube is probably 50 50. This one looks like it was replaced. The restrictor basically has to have the shapes to match the indent of the air tube and have a 4 mm hole in it. I have heard of other using a 4.5 mm hole, but it's easier to start out smaller and see how it goes.
