Here I have a Kayen Model HL4 (Nettlefold ) It has the Nettlefold Transfer on its base painted over but lettering is raised enough to read.
A matching lamp was sold on De/Bay recently there was some discussion as to whether it was a home modification of a heater.
"Not so" as the paper is presented here. From the Argus Melbourne 4 Dec 1948..

I believe this was a Nettlefold only model as it doesn't appear in any Kopsen paperwork that I have seen. So far I havn't seen any paperwork from Nettlefold apart from ads in newspapers. It would be nice to know the model number. I assume it equates to the Tilley TL14.

    Another very good find, Graham.

I note that the advert has one of those "domed" insect shields for the top of the gallery. I've been keeping an eye out for those but they seem to be rare as hens' teeth. I might see if I can make one.

I'm pretty sure the model number of this lamp is HL4 and is Nettlefold only. I have access to a bit of Kopsen paperwork and this model isn't mentioned at all. The only Nettlefold paper I can find are ads in old newspapers. There is one from Nettlefold in the Barrier Miner from Broken Hill, NSW from 17 May 1950. Among a lot of other stuff it lists Kayen table lamps HL7 and HL4. We know what the HL7 is so the HL4 must be this lamp. Here's the ad as a thumbnail.
