Here is my latest swap meet find, and at the moment is the crown jewel of the collection. It even came with a dead lizard inside the globe. Not sure how it got in there. The first pic is of it all cleaned up, with the following pics being how it looked when I bought it. 1431583786-IMG_3239_opt.jpg 1431583786-IMG_3239_opt.jpg 1431583818-IMG_3233_opt.jpg 1431583846-IMG_3236_opt.jpg 1431583887-IMG_3235_opt.jpg 1431583912-IMG_3234_opt.jpg

Tony, yup… The only thing I can figure is either some kid (or maybe even adult) caught the lizard and stuck it inside the globe and then completely forgot about it being in there. Of course there's always the remote possibility it could have managed to squeeze its way inside. But as small as the openings are, and the size of the skeleton, I have a hard time picturing that.
Either way, given the $15 price tag, I was already eyeballing the lantern when I spotted the skeleton inside and that just added to the "Yeah, I gotta buy this" factor.
As far as the lantern itself, the seal on the cap of course leaks, so I can't light it just yet. I'm debating whether to buy an NOS cap I found online for like $20 or spend a couple bucks for a new gasket and replace it. Because the lantern just isn't complete until it's glowing brightly in the night.
