Just got this lamp from a guy who would use it for heating his greenhouse in the wintertime so the plants didnt die. It was given to him from a distant friend, so I got no story. He shiftet the Primus with a minor wick-lamp just to save fuel. Anyway I like it, looks origin and just slightly used.

The cage has a single stress-crack and the fount 3 minor bulges. But this is my first 1082 :O)

    Nice one Claus.
It seems to be in very good condition.

But you'll apparently has some fettling to do by the looks of that mantle.
Shouldn't be so hard to sort out, though.
It actually looks like the mantle is too small, and it's not unlikely that exchanging it for a larger one will help.
Don't be shy! Even if the lantern is 300Cp, a 500CP mantle probably is more suitable.

Thanks Christer. I actually left the mantle on purpose. I was 2 days in the danish mail and arrived with a undamaged mantle lol.
I also found the mistake while the ceramic was loos in the brass-collar and he probably got this result from trying to fire it up.
Anyway all mistakes is corrected now and the mantle is a salute to danish mail, for a while

Well, that salute could also go for the Swedish and Norwegian mails!

I received a lantern from Norway last week, and it was the same very thing!
A totally unharmed and useable mantle still left on the lantern.
Nothing you really ask for, but it's always a surprise to see it delivered in that unharmed way.

Why did they make Primus 1082 in Sweden and at Høvik Verk at the same time (1952)?
I had a illusion the Høvik Verk produced Primus while the Primus-plant had production difficulties in the 50s.

The prints on the fount from Lampelus's 1952-lamp dont even look the same as the swedish 1952 lamp. Høvik is still mystic to me.

I cured the diseases but not the crappy mantle btw.

The licence production of Some Primus lamps and stoves in the 50's is still a bit of a mystery to me. Maybe there is a Norwegian collector who has the answer, but the ones I have spoken to don't know. My guess, and I stress guess, is that there is a connection to some requirements made by the Norwegian military. I believe that the models made were all used by the military at some stage. They could have had a requirement that any equipment bought in must be made in Norway, so Høvik Verk gets permission to produce these models from Primus. So far I know of the 1082, 982 and the 210 stove made by HV.

Btw, the lantern seems to be working well but it does look like it needs a bigger mantle.
