1954 Primus 1082

    This is the standard 300 cp version of 1082. This example has seen better days but does illustrate the model well enough I guess. ::Neil::

    This is an example of the final variation of the 1082. This variation was introduced during 1954 and was part of a rationalisation across most of Primus' models. Here you will note that the tank has a blanking plug for a quick starter and there is no number stamped into the tank. The globe cage also has the cut out for the quick starter and has a label with the model number and date. This way, all they had to do to change between a 1082 and 1084 is add the quick starter and put a different label on the collar. The hood was different too.

    The six digit date code can be broken up into three parts. From what I've been able to work out, the first two numbers refer to a lamp, the second two are the week and the final two are the year.
