Here is a Canadian Coleman Model 236 Major, dated 8/55. Note the Black Bakelite valve wheel, which has a brass insert. Displayed here with its original sunrise globe and period No. 1111 mantle.

The ventilator seen here is Pastel-Green, or Light Green, in color. I have recently been led to believe that Coleman of Canada phased out this color in favor of a Dark Green ventilator, sometime between August of 1946 and late 1947, with the last of the factory parts being used by 1948. Due to the heat stresses of these larger models, the ventilator enamel would sometimes be compromised, and replacement ventilators would then be installed. Being a 1955 example, this lantern should probably have a Dark Green "Early-Style" ventilator.

I have not seen any direct references to support this transitional period as of yet. Any comments regarding this period of change would be greatly appreciated, for the benefit of the community.
