Yes. It’s fixable. It’s a model X246B but it has the X246 pump (which is better than the X246B pump). First, make sure the bottom plate of the tank is not touching the flat surface when the lantern is sat down. This shows whether the tank has been over-pressurised or not. Parts are available from TW Sands in Melbourne. Tony
Thanks for the reply Tony press, if I pump the tank and turn the knob I hear air so it is obviously holding pressure ? can I fill it and light the burner to see if it works without a mantle , sorry for the questions but I am very new to these lanterns , kind regards Mark.
Check for air pressure leaks first (soapy water). Check your pump washer is not hard. You can light without a mantle, but at low pressure. Tony
The insect screen is upside down and needs to be turned over otherwise with a glass in place, you won't be able to clip the preheater torch onto the vapouriser.
Excellent advice as always, looks like you have a very nice lamp. If you look underneath the fount (tank) you will see some numbers and letters, the numbers will tell you the date and the letters not too sure what they mean. For example 0970XA means September 1970. Enjoy it.
