I have just been fettling this lovely little Hasag without great success.
It has a big halo and black mantle disease, which points to a badly worn jet, no great problem apart from the thread seems to be different to my spares which only go on just over 1 turn.
It was otherwise ready to go with just some oil on the pump washer and a mantle.
The glass is a replacement that I found and some form of pre heating needs sorting as I can't light it with the glass fitted at the moment. Until it's running properly that is not a priority.
Apart from not running well it's a beauty.
    Enjoy the pics. 20191006_165753.jpg 20191006_170545_001.jpg 20191006_153227.jpg 20191006_153213.jpg 20191006_153141.jpg 20191006_153120.jpg 20191006_153109.jpg 20191006_163621.jpg

Nice looking lamp but it's a hybrid with a Hasag-Rax tank under a Standard 2045 lantern head. I have seen this before and I have it listed as a Rax. I suspect this marriage was created by Raceck who had modified the Standard by leaving out the blow torch pre heater. 2045 is normally a gasoline burner but this is probably modified for kero. ::Neil::

    Thank you Neil,
Where would we all be without your knowledge and experience!
I don't suppose you also know what type of jet I need to look out for?

I really don't know. 2045 was a 300K lamp on gasoline. That makes it about 273 cp so I guess a 250 petromax jet might be OK. Slightly too small might help it run on kero. You have to remember these are a modified lantern and we don't know what the intended fuel was or even if they were converted to run with kero. This is only the second of these I have seen and there is no info about the other one so we are guessing. All I can suggest is try a few things and see what works best. ::Neil::

This lamp has taken a lot of time to fettle, despite the list of jobs needed being fairly small.
The generator took weeks to unblock, not helped by being tiny. I used a 150cp jet with the thread recut to M7 x 0.75
I had a lot of problems with the jet leaking, the seat was well off square.
I then had a lot of problems getting it to run properly, eventually I found out from CPL that the air gap for 150cp is 7 to 9mm not the 16 that I had. I made a temperory air scoop to bring that in line.
A lot of mantels and cursing later it eventually settled down and now runs beautifully.
I am happy and relieved it got there in the end.
