Made in Canada
All set for Christmas? Don't hang it on the tree.
I've never seen any here in my area.
I thought the Scout was only named after the 249.
A lucky find!
Coleman Canada had both the 247 and 249 labelled "Scout". Canada is littered with the 247 model. The 249 Scout is much more unusual to find. The thicker generator in the 249 made it a better lantern for kerosene, plus it had the way cooler preheat cup!
Nice 247 Ago!
Nice one, Make! I have a 249, too. It was made in Wichita in 1949. Mine has that "horseshoe" shaped alcohol cup, too.
I also have a Canadian 249 3/45 vintage. Never knew there was a 247 also called a Scout. Excellent kero burner and envious of adelcoro's.
