'50s X246 Dutch Edition

    Lo and behold this unusual Tilley X246. It features a metal label to instruct the user to fill the font with paraffin only. It also has two "Veritas style" clips to secure the hood to the frame. I've installed a more recent style hood as the old original one is covered in a layer of lead or tin. Probably an attempt to cover up the missing enamel. Maybe some day I'll find a correct replacement for it.
    I kinda like the "barnfind" look it has. I'll probably leave it this way. The speculum on the fount is too fare gone to polish anyway.
    To get it running was just a matter of taking it apart, installing a new washer kit and putting it back together. Really like the simplicity and reliability of these old lamps.
