this is the pricker lever, it was sieved, I used the heat and quench technique a fair bit, the end was not pretty, it did come out but the graphite pacing came out crumbled, I cleared it out,
Is there a replacement item that will work or an alternative?

Graphite string or a thin slice of graphite tape should work for the packing.

You could use brass or steel mesh of a similar weave for the burner cap, but Martin has made a few that fit Austramax from speaker covers.

    Cheers

Darryl, OK, I wasn't sure which construction the flame spreader was. Some in the reference gallery looked like pressed metal.

I used a kitchen strainer on this Austramax 3/300 Lantern with Red Hood and all brass font.

The wire was o.22mm dia and 0.7mm between strands.
You should be able to pick up a suitable circlip from any auto supply shop.

My burner has an inside diameter of 21.5mm, I bought some of this mesh used on a stove toaster

I’m hoping this will do the job,
Now looking for some graphite tape.

Do internal circlips keep their temper ? I guess not so important until the mesh wears out and then you put a new one in ?
    Good find tho Darryl !

I repaired the burner mesh cap with the steel mesh from the camp toaster, I used tensile wire as the keeper clip 8D362584-1062-4255-A7CE-987782093E61.jpeg

I cut fine brass mesh and fitted to the fuel pick to replace the old mesh F7ACF6F1-3F05-474F-A65A-CA41CBE5E6AE.jpeg 3132F0AE-10A8-47F9-A03F-4C7120B6B9BB.jpeg
