Making a template for a collar to suit my 14aby going by pictures and a bit of a drawing im making a template and im either going to try and make my own or take it to a local sheet metal work shop.
I have gone off of some pictures from off the lantern gallery and Graham has kindly sent me some measurements to go by, I have a local sheet metal worker that I will take to when im done, probably use stainless steel or brass, depends on what they have in stock, I also have a machinist looking at making the leaver.
I will be changing the screws and im taking the small plate to the engravers to get the ope shut engraved on it. Should be good, im excited cant w asit to get the leaver made,
Im having air leak problems. Tha actual leaver either shut needle up and down as in open, still leaks air in the up possition . Is this normal. The bottom of the generator where it screws to the fuel pick up leaks air even though i think i have tightened it, also where the fuel pick up meets the tank slite leak. Lastlt just above the leaver there is a glan nut, is there packing ment to be in there, i did put some graphite tape in there. Oppen to ideas
Hi fellas i now have my Aladdin 14a up and running. A bit of fiddling to get it right, the leaver is not just a on off part but a fuel flow thing, full open ogange flames too much fuel, but once i played around abit it has come good. This was when i first lit it up, heavy smoke big orange flames, the leaver acts as a fuel feed ajuster. Either way VERY COOL, and once again thath you vraham for you contributions, very much appreciated.
Darryl I think you should check that the nipple is on tight; and that your jet is not enlarged... Cheers Tony
Also, if you have the long ceramic flame spreader, check that one for cracks, that happened to me, i changed to a more normal Radius 119 spreader. Regards / Fred,
