I acquired an Aladdin 1A that was suppose to be in running condition. When it arrived I discovered the globe was cracked from top to bottom and someone had siliconed the crack, the needle tip is broken off and the tip is plugged. Someone told me a Radius 119 needle and tip would fit the Aladdin. After ordering and receiving the tip and needle I discover the tip has different threads and will not mount on the generator. Also not sure if the needle is too long. Does anyone have any suggestions? 20171208_155830.jpg

I have a spare (Aussie Aladdin 1A) nipple and needle if you want them. Message me.

I don't know about the tip (nipple) but the cleaning needle for the 119 is 2mm shorter than the Australia Aladdin 1A cleaning needle.

    @Gotrek @ @LanternTom

In private conversations I pointed out that the rod that holds the pricker part on the Aladdin 1A has varied over time; and that it can be adjusted via the thread at the bottom of the rod, and the thread at the top where the pricker part goes.

On one of my old 1As the Radius pricker works; but on another I could not get enough adjustment for it to clear the jet.

Below are a number of prickers.

    1. The nipple on the left is a contemporary TW Sands Aladdin 1A part.

    2. The pricker on the left is a Radius 119.

    3. The pricker second from left is the mate for the TW Sands nipple.

    4. The rest of the prickers are Aladdin A1 prickers of various uncertain vintage, with the nipple on the right hand side matches the right hand pricker.

I'm also after an Aladdin 1A nipple... I believe mine has been tinkered with to the point that it's now letting too much fuel out... flame stays very orange. Is TW the way to go?

I’ve got a good one (used) I can part with; or a NOS that will cost whatever it cost me plus postage.

Tony!!! How the devil are you?
I've just had an hour or so with a fellow lampie, (someone who knows you), and this particular gentleman has fixed me up with both a new nipple and a wealth of information... I very much appreciate your offer, of course, but I'm currently all set; notwithstanding some Viton!
    Keep well sir.
    Nice to hear from you.

Excellent! Good to know the Blue Mountains lamp mafia is getting organised.

    Cheers

    Hi @Gotrek
I have used the 119 radius jet and needle with great sucess, i retapped the preston loop generator, i have posted about it in the lantern gallery. The pricker rods do vary slightly, as @Tony Press mentioned, there is enough ajustment, top and bottom, a bit of fine tuning.
Globes can be soursed from the bay. Check out my posts on 1A Aladdins you may find what you are looking for. Ill post about the tap i used when i get to my work shop

This is a M5x0.8 metric tap i used to re tap 1A preston loop generator, 20200610_090037.jpg
The darker jet is radius 119, the lighter is 1A
    The threads are slightly diferent.
I discovered this when i had the same issues, 20200610_084135.jpg
