I got this lantern from a friend in Denmark. Is there someone who has information about this lantern? It's almost complete I guess, but the burnerhead is missing and the fuel knob. If someone has pictures of the missing parts , it would be very appreciated . Also I like to know what kind of fuel is used in this lantern. Johan
@Johan Osinga Why have you identified this lamp as an Aladdin? Is it because of the fuel pump, or are her stampings or other markings on the lamp? Also, what it the size of the glass? Can you show a photo of the globe off the lamp? Cheers Tony
Aladdin America did make a Donut lamp which had an orange tank, the one which is shown via the link below is a military version. Terry Marsh has or had an example with an orange tank in his collection. U.S. Army Aladdin inverted
Nice lantern, @Johan Osinga , Should restore well. I do like those strange upside down lamps. You can see they had an issue in those days with the shadow under a normal lantern.
Johan, there are one or two collectors in the US who have the military donut lantern. They might be able to provide some pictures and give you measurements. Try to contact them through the Coleman collectors forum . If you don't succeed, send me a message. Good luck, Erwin.
Thanks for the responses. I'll wait just a couple of days. Then I'll try it on the Coleman Collectors forum finding answers on my questions
Hello Johan Osinga, perhaps it would be best to contact Terry Marsh, because he certainly had an example of that lamp in his collection and the link below shows his website. The Terrence Marsh Lantern Gallery
Several years ago Neil/Mackburner wrote an article about those lamps which was published in the Light International magazine. The first link below shows the relevant page on Terry's website, just scroll down the page to see his example and the second link shows more relevant information, just click on the photo of Terry's lamp and more images appear.
