Here is a lovely salesman outfit that is visiting my place for a cleanup and fettle not my lamp. Seems albert lee was in business up to 1916 till the owner died. So this must be about that era. Can just imagine the sales rep dragging this round ironmongers and rich houses demonstrating the wonderfull light it produces Cheers pete.
Well Pete... a very nice salesman kit. Would have been tough to carry around and doing the sales promotion trick, knocking on doors back in the days ... /Conny
Would said salesman have had any kind of transport I wonder - hand cart, bicycle, horse and cart or would he just have to lug it around by hand?
Its not so bad to carry i reckon. I have a vision of the said salesman going about his rounds on trains and maybe buses to american towns for his sales cannot see there being many cars around at that time Cheers pete
That’s grand @pete sav, just the sort of prize that Willie the Steam would acquire Maybe a backpack like Jimmy Cagney’s in ‘A Lion in the Streets’. John
From what i can remember Tony think i had it up at 15psi run nicely at that no need to push it too hard. The tank and pipes had lots of rust I cleaned them all out and put rust remover in the tank its solid but best to be careful with petrol as fuel Cheers pete
Thanks, Pete. The dial in the photos is around 15psi, but I wanted to check whether you found that an adequate operating pressure. Cheers Tony
Yes tony i just pump lamps up till they feel right Bit hard to explain i try not to overdo it i pump em up till they are running constantly then leave it at that. Cannot always believe what these old gauges say i should think Cheers pete
That's a great kit. I have just the lamp out of one of these and have been looking for a small tank like that for years, someday maybe I'll run across one.
