I bought this a while ago, it was in good shape, looks only to have been used briefly. Changed all the seals and washers so as new again. It took a bit of fettling, especially to adjust the height of the rod and cleaning needle was something I had to repeat several times. The pump was missing, it had the airvalve from a car tyre instead so I had to buy a new pump knob and shorten a pumprod I had laying around to make it fit properly. I agree with others saying that the build quality of this lantern is not near as good as the old German made ones. They are sold nowdays at a campers/hiking retailer for around 300€ here in Sweden. It is bright as the sun don’t You agree?! Regards
I've got two of these Chinese petromax lanterns and as you,had to do needle and rod adjustments to get them to work properly, but once done as yours is now work very well and incredibly bright, I wonder how many of these have been stored up in peoples sheds because they couldn't get them working properly. Regards Ian.
