So been going through the lamp collection again and found a Bialaddin 305 have it a bit of a clean and a test light up. Only to find it leaking from the control knob. So does the knob pull or screw off to replace the gland seal? Also is that seal just an 'O' ring? 20200805_185349.jpg

IIRC the 305 has the earlier type of control knob that screws onto the shaft ( and is notoriously hard to get off). The gland seal is indeed an o ring , but you may be able to stop the leak by winding PTFE tape around the shaft.

I use two sets of pliers, one set to hold the spindle and the other to grip the knob, I place some bits of leather or cloth between the jaws of both sets of pliers, to protect the spindle and the knob.

    The knob unscrews anti clockwise.

Thanks for the tips, thought I'd check before I possibly got heavy handed with the wrong removal option!
