I recently acquired a Bialaddin 315 and I am not sure how the jet/nozzle cleaner works.

Should this knob be completely counterclockwise during normal operation and then just turned clockwise when you want to clean the jet or is it vice versa with starting in the full clockwise position and cleaning by turning counterclockwise?

Additionally is there a position that this knob should be left in during normal operation

Thank you very much for any info you can provide

    Yes.

Yes but return it to the counterclockwise position for normal operation.

re: instruction link - the 310 and later models have no 'V' on the knob unlike the earlier ones. However you are correct anticlockwise for lighting and normal operations. Clockwise to raise the cleaning needle, and back again quickly. All this does is raise the needle - there is no valve in there.
    Enjoy your new lamp

Going well - and it will keep doing so for years I reckon. My 315 has become my "go to" lamp for most occasions that justify a light up..

Do I see an ultra, ultra-ultra rare Imber Research glass? Are there any other markings that makes this lamp NOT your standard 315?

Yes, you do. I think we've seen this lantern in another thread where that globe was first spotted. Unless, of course, there are two Bialaddin 315s fitted with IR globes...

Views obviously differ, but the 315 is my favourite Willis and Bates lantern, with the original Vapalux 300 a close second. Don't ask me why, it's just a preference!
