I wonder if this is the first model of the Blanchard 1300 pendant lamps with long arms. It was in a very poor state when I found it. The fuel pipe was split, the tank was riddled with cracks, the vaporizer tube in the burner was split and the fuel valve spindle was rusted and broke off. Not the prettiest restoration but it runs.
A very nice job James, The tank on your Blanchard is of the very first type, being more pear shaped and would date from before about 1915 when the more rounder shape started and became and stayed the standard shape from then on. The Blanchard Model 1300 is listed as the longer arm version of the indoor Model 1303 and recommended for tropical country's, and is listed as such on George Adams price list of 1914. So would date from then if not a little earlier. There is normally a serial number stamped on the collar at the top of the arms, and sometimes a date on the burner if its an original early one. Jim
I took the top off and coated the inside with solder. Then I brushed on a layer of epoxy resin in case there were any leaks that the solder didn't fill.
