Here's is my second Blesk from Poland. This one was only missing the collar. The generator wasn't working, and there was a little hole in the tube. I had to make a new one from a long AGM generator. Now it's working fine. The missing collar was made from a perforated brass plate with round holes, like the original
Nice lantern, @Johan Osinga. I can’t quite tell from the photos, but is there any writing on the fibre control wheel? Cheers Tony
Congratulations @Johan Osinga Glad to see that these Polish lamps are in good hands and were taked care of by you. It seems that Blesk lamps were exported to Netherlands if three examples are there. Thank you so much posting it all the best, Piotrek
I forgot to mention that the lamp now burns on gasoline. I haven't tried it with kerosene, as it didn't seem like a kerosene lamp to me.
@Johan Osinga I notice it has a pressure release valve on the filler cap, which is usual for kerosene lamps rather than gasoline ones. Neil McRae has Blesk listed in the Pressure Lamp Caralogue as “probably kerosene”, so he wasn’t certain. Cheers Tony
@Tony Press. The only paper Neil has with a picture of the lantern, shows a little preheat torch inside the lantern. Enough to do preheating on a gasoline lantern, but I guess to short for a kerosene lantern.
Hello @Camp numao, The rivets I used are made of copper. I have another Blesk lantern, so I could make a copy of the collar myself. The holes in the perforated brass sheet are the same as the original one. And to connect, there were used copper rivets. The picture shows the original collar.
