Branching from what Darryl said here

A few years I did a 3 month survey recording lamps on Ebay trying to find out if blue hoods were from Kopsens (Sydney) and green hoods were Nettlefold (Melbourne) or visa versa.

The results were quite conclusive from start to finish.
About 95% of the time, blue hoods were Kopsen and green hoods were Nettlefold.

Knowing that surveys are funny things and that the results on one day can be different to the next, I decided to do it again.

Not for as long as the first time. I think it was only a couple of weeks.
Again, the results were quite conclusive. However, the results were reversed.
About 95% of the time, blue hoods were showing Nettlefold and green were showing Kopsen.

    Go figure.:?

I have six AP2s and they are all from Kopsen and they all have green hoods. Two are speckled light green though.

Kayen hood colours from my lamps:

Nettlefold: 5 with blue spots on black; 1 with solid green.

Kopsen: 1 with light green speckled; 1 with blue spots on black.

All hoods are Kayen (no Tilley).

    Cheers

    Well that is interesting.

Tony, the one with the solid green hood, is that a steel tank one ??

Now I can only wonder what we can take from this discussion. :-k
If we can't say green was Nettlefold or Kopsen, can we think that green could be both Nettlefold and Kopsen ???

    @Anthony

The solid green hood is in a brass tank Kayen (Nettlefold).

    Cheers
