    This is a Butterfly Model 928. I assume it’s made by Lea Hin Co. (PTE) Ltd. in Singapore.

    Note: The glass says “Butterfly Trade Mark W. Germany”.

    The lantern is not mine.

    Interesting... looks like a pretty faithful copy of a Coleman 282(?).

    Hopefully that's a 3 part fuel cap and not a pressure release screw - oh wait, it's a kero lantern. Ignore me!

    Its made by the Lea Hin Co obviously but not necessarily made in Singapore.
    I don't see this Coleman-styled Butterfly in Southeast Asia. Its probably made for the US market on demand at some point of time.

    @MYN

    I put it as Singapore as that is how it is listed in the Pressure Lamp Catalogue (@Mackburner).

    @Tony Press

    Any idea what the production dates are for this mode?

    I love the logo decal, reminds me of another manufacturer whose name I can’t quite recall at present.....

    Regards Jeremy

    The Butterfly lanterns of Lea Hin Pte Singapore could be made in any of its manufacturing facilities outside Singapore. It could be Indonesia or elsewhere but its never stated anywhere, be it the box, instruction sheet or the unit itself. The glass globe could be made by Schott of Germany or Pyrex in USA or locally in Southeast Asia.

    As a matter of fact, Butterfly units could even be from Hong Kong.

    I have never seen one of these in the flesh. Nice looking lamp.

    The PLC states Singapore because that is the headquarters address. In the note I also mention factories in HK, China and Thailand. I don't think I have seen any Butterfly marked with a country of manufacture so the actual origin of any lamp is always in doubt. ::Neil::

    The lantern is indeed in fine condition. It was found here in Tasmania, not in a collection, so I suspect it was imported directly into Australia.

    It’s now in a collection.
