Here is my Challow lamp. Cost me some grief to fettle this as the tank was destroyed. Mind you that was reflected in the price. I had to replace the tank with one from a spare OL50. That was difficult as the three bolts in the tank base had to be removed and the holes plugged. Then I had to insert three bolts in the top and two in the bottom to take the steady bars and the reflector. Fiddling about inserting bolts from the inside and then solder sealing them was not simple at all but I got there and it runs. ::Neil::

Here is the gallery chimney for the Challow. It is the same unit as used in OL50. ::Neil::

Thanks Neil for a great view of the gallery chimney, that's just what I needed to see.

This one is damaged. The small hook where the globe wire is fixed has broken off so there is a crude piece of wire to hold the cage up. This is how it came and it works so I left it. ::Neil::

Is that gallery chimney rolled inwards at the top, or is it simply a thin gauge parallel tube ?

The chimney is a straight tube but just has a slight roll over at the top. Not a full rolled edge just a short taper which you can see in this image.

This gallery/chimney is an adaptation of a 449 hood with an extended chimney added. The chimney is therefore the same size as the opening in a 449 hood. Total length of the whole thing is 6.5 inches. ::Neil::
