    Hello everyone.
Im VERY new to this so thanks in advance for any help. I have been given a Chalwyn lantern the same as the one in picture apart from its original in silver. Presently its in bits cleaning it up to get it looking tidy. Im wondering if anyone could give me an indication of when it was made . Thanks

    Hi Ross,

although I can't read the lantern name, I'm going to assume it's a Chalwyn Pilot lantern.
It was first delivered in March 1946. This lantern was definitely built until 1959, probably even longer. Unfortunately,
I have no documentation from the Chalwyn company from the 1960s.

    Greetings
    Jörg

    HI!
I found a Chalwyn lamp in a rotten old house. There were several different kind of lamps. Most of them were from China.
But this Chalwyn Tropic took my attention. Never seen before in Finland. It was rusted all over so badly, but not broken.

Several days in strong citron acid made the job. Green and black paint finished it.
I haven't lighted it up yet. Hope that the container will not leak.
I have Feuerhand from 40's, Czech Frowo and Meva.

This Chalwyn is the real found for me!
