My oldest 242. Possibly one of the first.

    Welcome @Blueflame
That’s an old one. It’s the first I have seen with the older vent, with the bail holes, not the later slots, and the narrower vent rim.
This should clean up very well.
    Cheers

Like the dating, I just got one with the bail holes, a '33 I believe. USA.

It’s interesting that this lantern is stamped “4 32”. My 1932 Canadian 242 is stamped “10 3” (ie a single number for the year).

    Cheers

    Tony

Edit: The other 1932 Canadian 242s in the Reference Gallery are marked “32”. So what is curious is why only “3” is used for 1933. :-k
