For many years I searched for a "Continental Lamp". Some time ago I found this lamp, which looked very worn. During a first pressure test a big rust patch on the tank bottom came off. Also the Mica cylinder was in very bad condition, I got such a cylinder luckily quite fast, thank you Erik! The tank bottom was only rusty from the outside, so a metal sheet could be soldered on (thanks Jan!). Now the Conti lights up again.
@leo I’ve never seen one of those. Very nice. Can you show a photo of the repair to the base? Cheers Tony
@leo This lamp has some 'feel good' about it. Firstly, there is nothing better than finding a lamp that you have been searching for. It is great to see your many years of searching finally paid off. Secondly, it is nice to see a couple of other collectors pitched in and helped you get this old girl up and running. Wunderbar
These Continental lanterns are really nice ! Good find and fettle. Whoever Jan may be, he did a good job.
Hi, The 1015 lanterns run on gasoline. But with a little additional pre-heating they also will run on kerosene. Erik
