For many years I searched for a "Continental Lamp". Some time ago I found this lamp, which looked very worn. During a first pressure test a big rust patch on the tank bottom came off. Also the Mica cylinder was in very bad condition, I got such a cylinder luckily quite fast, thank you Erik!
The tank bottom was only rusty from the outside, so a metal sheet could be soldered on (thanks Jan!). Now the Conti lights up again.

I’ve never seen one of those. Very nice.

Can you show a photo of the repair to the base?

    Cheers

This lamp has some 'feel good' about it.

Firstly, there is nothing better than finding a lamp that you have been searching for. It is great to see your many years of searching finally paid off.

Secondly, it is nice to see a couple of other collectors pitched in and helped you get this old girl up and running. Wunderbar

Congratulations Leo, it has cleaned up nicely considering the condition you found it in.

    Hi,
The 1015 lanterns run on gasoline.
But with a little additional pre-heating they also will run on kerosene.
