I have searched the archives here and have found no mention of this lamp in any of the paperwork.

If someone knows the correct model number of this lamp please share it with us here.

    Thank you,
    John

Hello Paul, the size of this lamp is the real question in my mind. These are the eBay pictures, the glass I received is twice the size of a Petromax 834 glass. I am really looking forward to seeing the lamp in person.

??? Then the seller has huge hands !
Twice the 834, looking up to lamp on the wall, would almost be an PX836.

We are in contact and I told John I know very little about his lamp.
The overall dimensions of the lamp suggest a 600 CP lamp, the tip cleaner device is - well, not totally unique but - extremely rare. One out of very little available papers suggest a connection to the Claris trade mark (or product series) of Continental Licht. The paper dates back to 1923.
There is (at least) one different trace I asked a fellow collector to go digging for as he is more into trade marks than I am.

Btw. Great logo of the glass globe. It is a variant of a 1905 Schott logo (still used in 1923) for heat resisting glassware.

Tom has a collection of Schott trade marks on his site at https://www.hasag.info/hasag/logo.html

@WimVe I thought the same, I’ve been surprised by these before.

@bp4willi Erik has been a great help on this.

I sure hope the Mrs. doesn’t plan anything for this weekend; I’d hate to disappoint her.

Here she is next to my 834; definitely a smallish lamp but boy did they love to put a glass on these.

At that size by a 250cp Petromax I would assume it is a 300cp lamp which from the 1923 paper Erik mentioned will make it Continental-Claris model 710 with a steel tank or model 715 with a copper tank. ::Neil::

Finally remembered to check, it’s a steel tank.

    So we have a Continental-Claris model 710.

Thank you all for the information.
