D/39 Coleman 427K...enjoy
She looks to be in lovely condition.
Thanks for sharing.
Lamp porn ........ she’s a beauty and I’m in lust.
Seriously nice lamp here, I love these Colemans especially from this era.
It’s the first 427K, a kerosene version of the 427 that I’ve seen outside of publications. This one appears to be an excellent example.
Thank you for sharing.
A grand old lantern!
@LanternTom Tom, you struck gold here. Very nice example!!
That's in good shape, despite the age. What's the colour of the hood enamel?
Does the d39 mean the year of manufacture , I've not seen any like this where I live in England, would love to own one.
@LanternTom that is a lovely looking lantern, you must be pleased. She is in very good condition.
There are 8 others in the Lamp Reference Gallery including my two...
I think D39 indicates July-Sept 1939. Seafoam green top, I think...
A real stunner, Tom!
Sorry to contradict you @george but I think the “D” represents the 4th quarter of the year. D/39 makes the manufacture October - December 1939.
@AussiePete Ya see Pete, that's why I can't walk and chew gum at the same time! You are 100% correct, simple math and I flunked...
Time to hang it up....
No way is it time to hang it up.
You have so much knowledge and experience to give and also to learn.
Hell, I sometimes walk into a room and wonder why did I go in I’ve looked for my glasses for an hour only to realise that I’m wearing them.
So enjoy the ride, have fun and keep on keeping on.
@AussiePete Thanks, Pete!
