Buggeration! - just as I thought I'd managed to stop collecting, this little chap came along:-

Filthy dirty and missing its alloy air intake block, an early Mk I Bowlfire with the four clips equally spaced around the guard and plain Bialaddin badge i.e. no guard retaining clips at the bottom:-

I thought I might have a gentle afternoon fettling this but the burner is seized onto the vapouriser and the air intake tube appears to be held on by a large blob of ancient lead/tin solder.

Balearics! - there may be trouble ahead...

The burner, vapouriser and Mk I spirit cup - currently one unit. The pricker wire has no point and is heavily coked up so my suspicion is we have a 'pregnant' vapouriser jammed into the burner spigot and when in last use, the pricker has been advanced into the jet. Note the blob of 'something' holding the air inlet tube.

    Hi David,

I know what you mean about trying to stop gathering. Collecting either stoves or lanterns is a disease which for now there is no cure.

That’s a very nice Bialaddin Bowlfire you have. I’m looking forward to seeing your new toy up and running. Thank you for sharing your new toy with us.

I have 2 heaters a Tilley R1 and the Tilley R55. Both are in good shape but I haven’t started to work on the R55 yet.

    Cheers,

    Norman
